Fortune Preschool Newsletter - Elk Grove

It has been an exciting week at Fortune Preschool. The children are still studying snails and have investigated them with magnifying glasses. Thank goodness we have plenty to go around! They have been excited to watch the snails eat and move around their habitat. The children observed that snails usually live in dirt, and they would like to bring that to their habitat. Unfortunately, it is not big enough for their needs. That's where the parents come in! If you have a small aquarium that you are not using, can we borrow it to create a natural snail habitat? The children are excited to see the snails living in a natural setting, and we need a few things to make this happen. We appreciate your help!

During outside time, some children have discovered that they can climb one of the trees in the yard. A teacher supervised the climbing to make sure the children were safe, and it allowed them to engage in some gross motor movement. What is more fun than climbing a tree with your friends? Of course, Ms. Street saw an excellent opportunity to photograph the children in the tree. I think she did a fantastic job capturing the children while climbing trees.

Our Terrific Twos were able to get a sneak peek at their classroom. They were excited to see the toys and materials selected just from them, including a quiet corner featuring a tent and cozy pillows. Everyone loves the cozy corner so much that it is not unusual to see a few children hanging out and reading a book! The two and three-year-olds also had a dance party with scarves, learned about the little old lady who swallowed a fly, and did some glue and sand art. Overall, they had a pretty busy week while getting to see the classroom.
