Fortune Preschool Newsletter - Elk Grove

It was another fun week for the Terrific Twos! An activity that they all loved was sand art. The children were able to make a design on paper with white glue and then sprinkle colored sand on it to make a colorful piece of artwork. While most took part in the project, some just decided that playing in the sand was enough for them. Since they had such fun with this art project, Ms. Johnson is looking for other ways to incorporate art into their day. If you have any ideas, feel free to share them!

Go Away, Big Green Monster! is a favorite book of the 3 and 4-year-olds. They frequently ask the teachers to read it so it was decided that the children should make their monsters. On the first day, the children drew what they thought was a scary monster. As you can see, they are frightening! The next day, the children used collage materials to make monsters which you can see hanging on the display board outside of the classroom. Their last monster project was to use collage materials again, but this time, they used the classroom clay to make colorful, happy-looking creatures. If you have a chance, take a look at the display!

Donations Needed!

The children have decided that they would like to create a grocery store in the dramatic play area. We need food boxes, clean containers such as oatmeal or coffee canisters, and anything else you might find in a grocery store. If you have any questions about the grocery store, please see Ms. Johnson.
